Paul DeSomma and Marsha Blaker met own Pilchuck Glass School in 1989 and went on toΒ create these amazing glass vases, shaped like waves.Although the couple works collaboratively on the vases, they also adhere to individual practices. Blaker focused on the textures and colors found within detailed marine environments while DeSommaβs work emphasizes the clarity and form of colorless and transparent glass.Together the couple is known internationally for their glass and ceramic work.
Marsha and Paul share a love of nature, the ocean environment, and a love for an βice-cracking coldβ beer.
This wave vase was designed and created by Hawaiian glass artists whose unique vases are inspired by the power of the ocean.
The ocean is an awesome place, but it is seriously hard to capture the beauty of a wave in art-form. These Hawaiian glass artists have come pretty much as close as it gets.
